Trakcia JSC is a private company with its main activity the performance of planned repairs, reconstruction and modernization of all types of freight wagons. As a successor of the "Wagon Repair Factory - Samuil", founded in 1972, Trakcia JSC combines a longstanding experience and traditions in wagons repair, using up-to-date technologies, compliant with the European standards and modern methods of manufacture.
Trakcia JSC is situated on an area of 160 000 square meters and has a repair capacity of 2500 freight wagons per year. Some of the largest transportation and manufacture companies in Bulgaria are among its main customers - Bulgarian States Railways, Holcim (Bulgaria), Lukoil (Bulgaria), Kremikovtsi, Umicore, Neohim, Solvay - Sodi, Gas Trade, Toplivogas, Bulmarket and others. Besides for the Bulgarian market, Trakcia JSC does repairs of wagons for companies from Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and Turkey.
Four main workshops are established in Trakcia JSC plant in Samuil:
- In the department for repair of wagon frame and case welding works are carried out by highly qualified specialists certified by TUV Rheiland (DIN 6700 and EN 729)
- Wagon running mechanism is repaired in two well-equipped departments for bogie and wheel set repairs
- There is a workshop where the wagons are sand-blasted, coated with paint and templated
- A separate workshop is set-up for spare parts production
In order to keep its grounds on the European market, and to diversify the scope of the proposed services, Trakcia JSC adopted the production of a new type of open wagon. This wagon has enforced construction of the body-frame and of the wagon case. The construction complies with UIC and RIV requirements.
