Shunting locomotives MDD 3-00 series:
MDD 3-00 series of diesel-hydraulic shunting locomotives is made by vehicles equipped with common-rail diesel engines. Each locomotive is equipped with two compact 6-cylinder engines.
Each of the power groups (engine, transmission, final drive) drives one of the axles. The two groups are fully independent and work either separately or simultaneously. This leads to better fuel management and reliability.
MDD locomotives are compact. They usually weight 25t. but weight may be constructively added as much as it is needed for a given application. Maximal speed of 80 km/h may be reduced to 30 or even 15 to enhance traction.
MDD 3-00 are locomotives with low power thus very economic and fuel saving. Although they are not very powerful, their traction capacity is high (up to 1600t.) because of the low speed and transmission system.
We have different customers of our locomotives. Currently they serve in various industrial sidings, Sofia undergroung, and Kosovo Railways.
